Case Study – Crossrail Bond Street

ABOUT CROSSRAIL BOND STREET INSTALLATIONS

SPL are currently working on Crossrail’s Elizabeth Line helping to deliver Bond St station. There are two brand new ticket halls at street level – one at Davies Street, the other at Hanover Square, with two new platforms stretching 225 metres in length constructed 28 metres below ground.

The Elizabeth line Bond Street station will help improve accessibility and increase capacity at one of the busiest shopping districts in the UK to accommodate over 225,000 people using the Jubilee, Central and Elizabeth lines daily.

Since joining the project back in 2015 SPL involvement has evolved, from carrying out the glanding and terminating to Crossrail assets to providing the temporary electrics throughout both sites. Further to this, the last year has seen SPL awarded the role of installing the infrastructure required to provide power to a variety of systems across the project, such as signalling equipment, Tunnel Ventilation Fans and the Tunnel Lighting & Power. The provision of these installations play a vital role in ensuring the station is ready to be tested and commissioned allowing it to become live.
