Project Details: 9 Savoy St.

 

Contract Value: £50K

 

Duration: 5 months: 2months (May 2020 – June 2020)

 

Works Overview:
Level 2 CAT A Fit Out Including Terrace, Staircase and Toilet Refurbishment
Bespoke Bike Store and changing Facilities.

Works Description

  • Validation of existing services.
  • The installation of site temporaries.
  • New small power to floor boxes across CAT A space including a power to a large terrace. 

 

MECHANICAL POWER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Installing tap and flush sensors to all toilets.

 

NEW LIGHTING SCHEME THROUGHOUT:

  • Completely new MF ceiling throughout space.
  • Value engineering lighting to main entrance.
  • Design and build lighting for awning above main entrance.
  • All lighting was controlled via CP Electronics lighting protocol with circuits being hard wired back to the main electrical cupboard due to the nature of the ceiling.

 

NEW SPECIALIST LIGHTING:

  • Architectural pendant fittings to meeting rooms, atrium and breakout areas.
  • New suspended linear luminance fittings installed in CAT A space.
  • Outside terrace lighting concealed in joinery.

 

Unique project issues:

GENERAL

  • Project was delivered throughout the first lockdown and all supply chain issues successfully managed to deliver on time and within budget.
  • SPL were engaged to complete the project after the existing electrical contractor became insolvent. 

 

TECHNICAL

  • There were no construction drawings available, SPL had to survey and validate all existing works to determine the outstanding requirements to complete the project.
  • Validation of inherited works from previous electrical contractor. This was a challenging task due to no record drawings.
  • Installation of all new lighting throughout bike store.
  • Installed lighting to plant room which fed bike store.
  • All lighting was controlled via CP Electronics lighting protocol with circuit being hard wired back to the main electrical cupboard due to the nature of the ceiling.

 

New specialist lighting;

  • Bike store lighting concealed within joinery.
  • Carried out emergency lighting tests and certified.
  • Certified all electrical works.
